This summer CDR are taking three months away from Plastic People (due to the venue refurbishment, innit) so the team will be bringing their SPECIAL@ to the wicked C.A.M.P, on City Road. So once the footie is over, make sure you get down to see us for a post-match session.

SPECIAL@ is the strand of CDR which takes the key players from the CDR community, and their invited guests, who bring their unique flavours to special events and parties. It’s called Special for a reason (ahhh…).

Look out, it’s going to be a scorcher:

Live – Sampha, Phantom (Young Tirks) , Lukid (Werk Discs)
DJs – Toby Tobias (ReKids, LNA), WaH-Chu-kU (Drum Poet Community, NEPA), Gavin Alexander

Live action this month is leaving us a bit flabbergasted it’s that good. So you’ve got to come and check it out. We have 20 year-old rising star Sampha from Morden who creates a unique mash-up of soul & blues through a crackly Nintendo filter. Next up is duo Phantom whom make punk/funk-inspired beats with a soulful Detroit feel. And then we have solo artist Lukid  – the king of intimate beatscapes.

DJs-wise we have the usual Special@ team featuring Tony Nwachukwu in his WaH-Chu-kU guise – him displaying his more uptempo dancefloor vibe – plus special guest Toby Tobias who will be rocking out his trademark selection of spaced out tech-inspired disco.

Also check out the brand new website burntprogress.com which is busting at the seams with industry insights, articles, exclusive tunes for you to download and CDR community spirit to boot. It’s all very impressive if we don’t mind saying ourselves and we would LOVE to get your feedback, online and in person.
